Un-leaded
Broken People are really just 6 friends trying not to be something awfully special.
We just figure that the world has enough marketing, enough pretending and enough maintaining the brand of self and self’s achievement.
Because, despite all this “marketing”, still so many are left hurting: encouraged to claim we have it all together while depression and suicide silently run rife. Claiming meaning and education while we are materialistically anaethetised and mused to the point that we are no longer able to feel, to risk, to trust, to need, to surrender, to ultimately matter.
So, perhaps we don’t all have it together. Perhaps by removing the mask of having it all together, we could reveal the weak sides of ourselves and a conversation could begin.
Our dream is to use the opportunity of music to get this thought and conversation happening.
We’re all from Johannesburg, South Africa, a country full of problems but full of hope; a country that still needs God.
Time to tear down the facade of self reliance and to be vulnerable and interdependent.
